In My Kitchen: May 2015

Weck jars are my go-to for storing sauces, condiments or leftovers. They come in such a wide range of sizes and shapes, that I can use the smaller sizes when I make mustard or ketchup, the tall size is perfect for pickled vegetables, and the large size works well for making limoncello. The glass is sturdy, and the clip-on lids come with a rubber cushion to seal tightly. Plus, I love the look of their modern-industrial-european yet homey styling.

Postcards

A little inspiration from faraway places.

Lovely Florence, Italy. The architecture is so much more impressive in person. We rode the train to the historic town center to take in the cathedral, the baptistery, the campinile, all magnificent. We were able to view the courtyard of the Palazzo Vecchio, home of the Medicis, in wonder. If this is just the courtyard, the rest of the palazzo must be even more incredibly elaborate. And with a life-size replica of the David outside the front door!
